Jonathan Foo hit an aggressive hundred (106) as Albion defeated Gibraltar/Courtland by 209 runs in latest play of the Spready’s Bakery Berbice under-19 cricket competition. Foo hit the boundary boards 11 times while clearing it on four occasions as he destroyed the hopeless Gibraltar/Courtland attack.
Other impressive scores in this latest round of matches were recorded by Police’ Jeron Amsterdam 67, Port Mourant’s Mahendra Veersammy 57, Young Warriors Seon Hetmyer 53 and Keon De Jusus of Tucber Park who hit 59 not out.
Outstanding bowling performances came from, Paradise’ Phillip Edwards 7-22, Police’ Malvern Williams 6-7, Kildonan’s Bharrat Singh 5-17, and Rainbow Generation’s George Archibald 5-19 and Albion’s Marvin Naidoo 4-37.
At Albion, the home team defeated Gibraltar/Courtland by 209 runs. Scores: Albion 267-8 in 45 overs – Jonathan Foo 106, Sahadeo Somai 35 and Andy Mohan 37. Oswin Simon 3-53, Keon Sinclair 2-31. Courtland 58 all out in 13 overs. Marvin Naidoo 4-37.
At Edinburgh, Tucber Park beat the home team by two wickets. Edinburgh 123 all out, Clive Barron 33, Joemal La Fleur 2-15, Mark Jackman 2-25. Tucber Park 124-8. Shaun Baksh 27, Keon De Jesus 20. Travis Peters 2-39.
At Paradise – the home team went down to Blairmont by 26 runs. Blairmont 87 in 18.1 overs. Paradise, 61 all out.
Kildonan defeated Tain by 71 runs, Kildonan 163 (Bharrat Singh 40, Navindra Ramnarine 20), D. Bachan 4-22. Tain 92 all out. Extras top scored with 46.
Police defeated Cathedral Shalom by 306 runs at Edinburgh. Police 330 in 39 overs. Jeron Amsterdam 67, Ravi Ramkumar 46, Royden Grant and Gerish Deeges 40 each. Sohan Mangra 3-20, Omesh Singh 3-37. Cathedral Shalom 24 all out. Malvern Williams 6-7 and Joel Amsterdam 3-5.
Rainbow Generation defeated Paradise Invaders by 19 runs at paradise. Rainbow Generation 116, Paradise 97 all out. At Blairmont, Young Achievers defeated the home team by 98 runs. Achievers 187, Blairmont 89 all out.
Woodley Park lost to Bath Aditya by 86 runs. Whim defeated Port Mourant ‘B’ by 6 runs.
Port Mourant ‘A’ hammered Whim by 7 wickets and Tucber Park got past Young Warriors by 53 runs.
