Guyanese Kellon Carmichael and Jamal Hinkson scored half-centuries on Sunday for Sweet Revenge as the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board Premier League two-day cricket competition continued here.
Carmichael six fours and two sixes in an attractive 58 while Hinckson, batting at number eight due to a knee injury sustained while fielding, smashed nine fours and two sixes in his entertaining 57.
Another Guyanese, former senior Berbice Inter-County player Luke Latiff who is now resident in Trinidad, supported with a cameo 39 with eight fours as the Guyanese did the bulk of the work in getting Sweet Revenge to 258 after a century from Deopak Kumar had allowed Aranjues to declare at 355-6.
The home reach, with a 92-run lead galloped to 50-0 off nine overs in their second innings but their victory hopes were dashed by rain which caused the encounter to be called off a 16:00hrs.
The Premier League is the second highest division after the National League and Carmichael and Hinkson are the registered overseas players in the Sweet Revenge line-up.
Former Guyana under-15 off-spinner Toralvo Scipio is the other Guyanese at Sweet Revenge and plays in the clubs ‘B’ team.
National all-rounder Chris Barnwell could return to Trinidad club cricket for Sweet Revenge at the completion of the WICB Regional four-day competition in April.
