BATH SETTLEMENT, WEST COAST BERBICE – Last week the Aditya Kids Trust Fund Foundation commissioned the Aditya Kids Library & Resource Centre at Bath Settlement on the West Coast of Berbice.
Secretary/Treasurer of the organization Zulfikar Alli indicated that the facility was born out of a need within the Bath Settlement area and was established at a cost of approximately $1 million. According to him, there is another library at Number Eleven Village a short distance away.
President of the Aditya Kids Trust Fund Foundation, Narchand Mohan, of Canada, speaking at the ceremony said that the Aditya Kids Trust Fund Foundation is a non- profit organization, which has been involved in charity work since its establishment.
It came into being after the death of seven-year old Aditya Ramdhan, in October 2007. He was sponsored to undergo medical treatment in India. It was decided that on behalf of those who had helped in offsetting the cost of the late child’s surgery in India, his death would be celebrated by making a difference in the lives of less fortunate children.

The President of the organization expressed his thanks to the members of the Canadian arm of the organization including the founder Canadian born Lorraine Kissoon, the Vice – President Mohamed Safie, the Board of Directors – Sham Harripersaud, Nasir Ghanie, Iqbal Rahaman, Ryan Dolaram, Azaad Hussein, Pramchand Punwassie, Navin Deodat, Laurence Williams, Zanique Yasin, Ravindra Singh and Guyanese members with those who contributed in any way to make the library a success.
Their Motto is, ‘Investing in Our Future by Helping Kids’.
