Mahaicony & Rosignol notch up wins

Competition in the Berbice Football Association under-15 inter club competition continued on Sunday last at the Rosignol Community Centre ground with the home team and Mahaicony posting victories.
Rosignol defeated Real Union 2-1, while Mahaicony edged Monedderlust by the lone goal of their encounter.
For Rosignol, Arthur Carter and Marlon Nicholson scored in the 10th and 25th minute respectively. Real Union’s consolation strike came off the boot of Holford Walter in the 56th minute.

Monedderlust squandered a number of scoring chances, Kevin Layne Jr. hitting the upright twice and in a one on one situation with the keeper, he sent his shot straight to the keeper. Their captain Akeimo Watts after dribbling past the defence and drawing the keeper from his line sent the ball outside the uprights.
In the other game, Mahaicony United won by a 1-0 margin over Monedderlust, Sherwyn Lewis netted in the 33rd min.
Matches will continue on Sunday at the same venue starting from 13:00hrs.
