BCBC umpire Somwaru on appointment as 4th official for ODI’s

The President and Executive members of the Berbice Cricket Board of Control (BCBC) have offered its congratulations to umpire Dhieranidranauth Somwaru on his appointment as the Fourth Umpire for the upcoming Digicel One Day International Series between the West Indies and England at the National Stadium.
This appointment, the first of its kind for a Berbice Umpire, is a major achievement in the career of this outstanding official who only last week was named Umpire of the Year at the Second Berbice Awards Ceremony.
Over the years, Somwaru has proven himself to be an astute student of the game and an outstanding role model to his peers.
The BCBC said it is confident that his achievement would be the start of many others to follow including his Test debut in the near future.
“We wish him well and are confident that he would make all Berbice and Guyana proud,” the Board stated.
