As Windies hope to extend winning streak against England

The in-form Ramnaresh Sarwan says he is hoping to reproduce his recent heavy scoring before his home fans and hopes West Indies can extend their winning form in the opening two One-Day Internationals against England in Guyana this weekend.
The right-handed Sarwan compiled 626 runs in the preceding five-match Test series, hitting three centuries including career best 291 as West Indies eked out a 1-0 series win.

“I am always excited to play at home. The crowd has always been supportive and it is just a matter of going out and playing positive cricket,” the right-hander pointed out.
“We have been fine and we want to maintain the momentum coming off of the Test series win and the victory in the T20. We are happy for the support we have been getting and we want the fans in Guyana to come out and support us.”

West Indies open their five-match ODI series against England tomorrow at the National Stadium at Providence before clashing again on Sunday at the same venue to wrap up the double header.
The regional side warmed up for the ODI series when they comprehensively beat England by six wickets in the solitary Twenty20 International on Sunday in Trinidad & Tobago, with Sarwan again leading the way with a superb 59 to earn the Man-of-the-Match award.

“I have been working really hard and I am seeing the results. We have been working hard as a team and the signs of improvement are there. We want to go from strength to strength,” said the 27-year old.
“Like I said at the start of the series, it is important that we strive for consistency and I think if we can continue to do that we will compete with any team.”

Sarwan said West Indies would be looking to build on their T20I success when they bowled, fielded and batted brilliantly to outplay England.
“I thought we played really well, the guys bowled really well to restrict England to 120-odd,” he noted. “We fielded really well as a group and hopefully we can continue that.”
