The Reds Perreira Sports Foundation (RPSF), in keeping with its mandate to preserve the sports cultures and achievements of cricket and other stalwarts, has organized another Night of Nostalgia at the Le Meridian, Pegasus Hotel tonight starting at 19:30hrs.
The programme encourages public participation and focuses on the lives of past cricket and other sports personalities.
Among those expected to make presentations tonight are Sir Vivian Richards, Tony Cozier, Roger Harper and Perreira himself.
According to head of the foundation, Reds Perriera, the forum would address the lives of the above named stalwarts while opening the door for interaction between the identified team and members of the public.
Since coming into existence in December 2004, the RPSF has worked in conjunction with the national sporting associations to realize several objectives.
To this end the Foundation has run off several programmes inclusive of the Tony Cozier Workshop for writers and commentators, the Alvin Corneil Clinic for Football Club coaches, the Mike Worrell wicket-keeping seminar and the Gordon Greenidge batting clinic.
The Foundation is not only about cricket but has also organized other activities in other disciplines.
Among them was the hosting of netball coaches out of Barbados who have imparted valuable knowledge and experience to local stalwarts as well as horserace personnel, also coming out of Barbados.
The Foundation has also provided equipment for other disciplines including rugby, golf and boxing.
To date, the Foundation has featured such personalities as Sir Everton Weeks, the late Clyde Walcott, Lance Gibbs, Wes Hall, Michael Holding and Ian Bishop among others.
Tonight’s activity promises to be just as entertaining and informative as preceding events.
