The Spready’s Bakery under-19 cricket tournament in the Ancient County of Berbice continued last weekend with two rounds of matches, the leading highlight being a brilliant century from Tucber Park’s Sean Baksh who slammed 138 in his team’s record breaking total of 506 achieved against Cathedral Shalom.
Half centuries were recorded by Police’ Gerish Deeges (68), Tucber Park’s Trinson Carmichael (82) and Kelvin Leitch (74), Rose Hall Canje’s Devin Gopaul (58) and Rose Hall Town Pepsi ‘A’ Eon Hooper (72).
Leading in the bowling department were Tucber Park’s Derick Cadogan 6-l9, Rose Hall Community Centre’s Dinesh Gopaul 6-29, Joel Amsterdam of Police 5-8, Rose Hall Town Pepsi ‘A’ Naresh Mahadeo 5-20 and Cathedral Shalom’s Anand Seecharran 5-23.
Following are the results from the matches:
Tucber Park defeated Cathedral Shalom by a massive 467 runs and Edinburgh. Tucber Park 506 in 45 overs, Sean Baksh 138, Trinson Carmichael 82 and Kelvin Leitch 74.
Cathedral Shalom 39 all out in 15 overs, Derick Cadogan 6-19 and Keiol De Jesus 3-14.
At D’Edward the home team defeated paradise by 7 wickets. Paradise 79 all out in 20.1, Deon Noble 13, Kevon Jawahir 4-29, Sadari Harripaul 2-23. D’Edward 81-3, Sarari Harripaul 26.
Achievers defeated Rainbow Generation by 97 runs at Seafield. Achievers 206 in 36 overs, Raffle Estraido 46, Sherwyn McPherson 37. Clensford Alley 4-37. Rainbow Generation 109 all out in 28. Kevis Adridge 25, Sherwyn McPherson 3-16 and Raun Johnson 3-17.
At Canje, Police defeated Rose Hall Community Centre by 3 wickets. Rose Hall Community Centre 98 all out in 34.1 overs, Salim Sattar 16, Rocky Hutson 3-24, Malvern Williams 2-9 and Michael Sampson 2-11.
Police 99-7 in 19.4 overs, Gerish Deeges 24, Joel Amsterdam 17, Vishal Singh 3-13.
At Mount Sinai, Police defeated Mount Sinai by 135 runs. Police 209 in 39.4, Gerish Deeges 68, Flynn Reid 40, Dion Edwards 3-36. Mount Sinai 72 all out, Joel Amsterdam 5-8 and Malvern Williams 3-8.
Rose Hall Community Centre defeated Cathedral Shalom by 249 runs. Rose Hall Community Centre 299 all out in 42 overs, Kevin Jhetoo 69, Devin Gopaul 58 and
Justin DeFreitas 43 not out, Anand Seecharran 5-23. Cathedral Shalom 50 all out in 14.3, A Seecharran 19 not out, Dinesh Gopaul 6-29, Udesh Imrit 4-16.
At Area ‘H’ Ground, Rose Hall Town Pepsi ‘A’ defeated Port Mourant ‘A’ by 6 wickets.
Port Mourant 128 all out, Isaiah Brijadar 30, Naresh Mahadeo 5-20, Mark Fernandes 3-24, Eon Hooper 2-14. Rose Hall Town Pepsi ‘A’ 130-4 in 25 overs, Naresh Mahadeo 26, Stephen Lewis 20, Clifton Arjune 2-34.
Rose Hall Town Pepsi ‘A’ defeated Whim Nationals by 132 runs. Rose Hall Town Pepsi 254-9 in 45 overs, Eon Hooper 72, Stephen Lewis 45, Leon Crawford 30, Kevin Jalim 2-40. Whim Nationals 122 all out in 32.2. K. James 31, Mark Fernandes 4-31, Eon Hooper 3-21 and Naresh Mahadeo 2-23.
At Bush Lot Farm, Kildonan defeated Rose Hall Town Metro (Female) by 61 runs. Kildonan 150 all out in 25 overs. Bheem Singh 34, Erva Giddings 3-34, Nikita Toney 3-42, Shermaine Campbell 3-17. Rose Hall Town Metro 89 all out. Shermaine Campbell 25, Teneisha Leonard 15, Charran Mankarran 2-19 and Bheem Singh 2-12.
