A 20 year-old man, who admitted to stealing two gold chains and two gold bands, as well as one gold broach, from businessman, Kennard Jones, was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment by Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty, yesterday.
Ravendra Singh entered a guilty plea to the offence of break and enter and larceny after the charge was taken summarily.
Singh, on March 12, last, entered the Richmond Village residence through a window which he broke. He then proceeded to steal the gold jewellery, valued at $385,000.
When Singh was asked by the magistrate to justify his decision to steal jewellery, he said that he had wanted the money.
Prosecutor Oswald Pitt then told the court the items were all recovered.
