The second of three cycle road races in memory of the late President Cheddi Jagan is set for the West Demerara on Sunday pedaling off from the Wales Police Station proceeding to Bushy Park on the East Bank of Essequibo before returning to the Demerara Harbour Bridge for the finish.
Warren’ Forty’ Mc Kay who won the first race on March 1st, 2009 in Berbice is expected to compete on Sunday before leaving for Trinidad and Tobago to compete in the West Indies versus the World championship among other races.
As usual, the first six seniors, first three juniors, upright and veteran riders will all receive cash prizes. A special prize for the first over-60 cyclist is also at stake as will 8 sprint prizes. Race time on Sunday is 09:00hrs.
