Dear Editor,
Diamond New Scheme is blessed with having water provided by GWI.
What this community has been experiencing for the past month is heavy red sediment or, as is termed by some as rust, thus giving the water the colour of orange juice.
You can well imagine the quandary housewives find themselves in. This water will damage clothing if used for washing; the sediment has to settle before the water can be used for bathing.
Also, the water, for most people, is not used for drinking or cooking. It cannot be used for washing one’s car. Perhaps it can only be used for agricultural purposes.
While customers are being threatened to pay their water rates, it is just right for GWI to ensure that water of good quality flows in its water mains.
The consuming public would be grateful for an explanation.
