Although Rameshwar Arjun is lucky to have found his car, he is counting his losses, as the vehicle has been stripped of its accessories.
Kaieteur News understands that at around 22:00hrs on Thursday police on patrol caught four men stripping a car at a vulcanising shop at D’Urban Street in Georgetown and, upon checking, discovered that it was the same car which went missing from the Coney Island entertainment park on Carifesta Avenue last Wednesday night.
The men have been arrested and are assisting with investigations.
Meanwhile, according to Arjun who resides at Nootenzuil, East Coast Demerara, a number of items are missing from the car, including one Blackberry phone and Canadian documents belonging to his sister-in-law who is currently visiting Guyana.
These documents, he said, include her bank card, driver’s licence and US$800.
Components from the car’s engine have also been stolen. Arjun had told Kaieteur News that he has had his Toyota Carina car, PHH 7028, for approximately seven years.
He explained that he and his family decided to visit Coney Island on Wednesday night and, after a few hours of fun at the entertainment centre, he left the venue to discover that his car had been stolen.
