Rivalry is expected to heat up today at the Bayrock Community Centre ground in the Netrockers FC organised Linden Town Week under-19 football competition.
Clashing in the day’s feature encounter from 16:00hrs will be the host club and arch rivals Eagles United in a group ‘A’ match while the curtain raiser, a group ‘B’ match-up two hours earlier, brings together group favourites Winners Connection against Vasco.
Meanwhile, Vasco rallied to defeat Blue Berry Hill United by the odd goal in three in the competition’s latest game contested on Friday afternoon at the same venue. From the first whistle it was clear that both teams were eager to win playing hard and exciting football.
Blue Berry Hill it was that took the lead in the 50th minute through a Jason ‘Brew’ Cobenor strike. Fifteen minutes later, a fierce 25 yard free kick by Michael ‘White’ Wilson drew Vasco level. The winning strike came in the 78th compliments of Keith Fraser.
