An explosive double header is anticipated at the Georgetown Football Club ground, Bourda tonight when the semi-finals of the Mayor’s Cup football championship are contested.Leading local and city side Alpha ‘The Hammer’ United are up against the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) in the feature encounter, while the preceding game pits Pele against Camptown.
Alpha will hope this game serves as preparation for their Regional championship game against the Haitians, however, the army will have upset programmed into their psyche.
Alpha are also due to face an All Star Georgetown line-up at the GCC on Friday from 7:30pm.
