As police continue their investigation into the shooting to death of a Sophia teen on Thursday last, they have managed to arrest two persons in connection with the incident.
On Thursday last 15-year-old Warren Scotland of Sophia was shot dead when two bandits opened fire after robbing a group of gamblers in the area.
Scotland was making his way home when a single bullet struck him in his face a few yards from where some gamblers were playing a game of cards in front of a shop.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital around 20:10 hours, having been rushed there by a police patrol vehicle.
Reports are that the persons in custody are closely related to each other and are also suspects in another recent murder.
Kaieteur News was told that the two men were arrested on Friday.
According to a police source, the men are also assisting investigators with information relating to the February 15 shooting that left 30-year-old Terrence Plummer dead.
Plummer was shot at the Imperial Chinese Restaurant while making a purchase. The father of one died one week after the incident while receiving treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
According to the source, the suspects are somehow related to Plummer.
