All the top clubs are expected to participate in the Old Fort Hockey Club organised one-day competition which is scheduled to be played next Tuesday, at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground.
According to President of the club Ivor Thompson, clubs have been permitted to field as much as two teams for the seven-a-side event which promises to bring together most of the leading players in the country.
The aim of the tournament is to help resuscitate interest in the sport within the community which has seen a decline in activity over the past decade.
The clubs who’ve confirmed participation include Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC), Hikers and Western Dragons.
Thompson also declared that players such as Dwight
Sullivan, the Simon brothers (Aderemi and Askofu), John Abrahams, Jason De Santos, Gavin Hope, Dwayne Alleyne and Mark Xavier will appear for Old Fort.
