Niece finds man’s decomposing body

Tarmattie Ramdass of Supenaam, Essequibo Coast was able to recognise what was left of her deceased uncle, Backraj Ramdass, by his boots and a few facial hairs attached to his skull.
She found his remains in his home at Tacuma, Essequibo Coast during a routine visit on Thursday.
He was lying on the floor.
Forty-year-old Ramdass, a farmer, was last seen by persons in Supenaam and his niece a few weeks ago.
According to investigating ranks attached to the Anna Regina police station, the discovery was made after a call by the dead man’s niece summoned the officers. Tarmattie, who occasionally visits her uncle at his Tacuma home, made the discovery yesterday.
Police have however ruled out foul play.
His remains were buried yesterday after a post mortem.
