North Zone, have advanced to the final of the Bartica Football Association (BFA)
Inter Zone competition which is set for Sunday at the Bartica Community Centre ground.

The battle for the other place in the championship match is on with Riverain and Greater Bartica, both on 5 points each after three matches in with a chance meeting North.
Riverain will take on South while Greater Bartica (GB) tackling Central in the remaining matches.
In latest results, North, led by a Kwesi Jacobs double, defeated South by the odd goal in three. Jacobs found the back of the nets in the 17th and 22nd minute while South’s consolation came off the boot of Kenrick Wilkinson in 58th.
In Sunday’s feature clash, Riverain and Greater Bartica battled to an exciting two all stalemate. Sylvester DaSilva had given GB the lead ten minutes into the match but that was cancelled out in the 20th by Riverain’s Andel Norton. Norton’s teammate George Mentis gave them the lead in the 30th but Osawald Hernandez ensured GB benefitted from an equal share of the points with his 60th minute penalty.
On Saturday, 9-man North held GB to a 1-1 draw. North took the lead through a Rondel Washington 30th minute strike and held that advantage until the 70th when Mark Richards pulled GB level via the penalty spot. Two of North’s players were red carded but they still managed to hold on for a draw.
Riverain were in a no nonsense mood in their match against Central whom they dismissed 4-1. George Mentis (14 & 25) and Andel Norton (38 & 65) each netted a double for the winners with Riverain’s lone effort scored by Eon Gomes four minute to full time.
Point’s standings to date; North (10) from four matches, Greater Bartica and Riverain 5 from three matches each while South and Central are on 1 each also from three matches.
