Guyanese women busted with cocaine en route to Africa

Two Guyanese women, travelling separately, have been nabbed en route to different parts of Africa, with a quantity of cocaine. This information was relayed to the Guyana Police Force by the authorities in Portugal and Brazil, where the drug runners were apprehended.
On February 11, Customs officials in Lisbon, Portugal managed to seize more than 16 kilograms of cocaine, in the possession of a 42-year-old Guyanese female, who was travelling from Brazil to Guinea Bissau in West Africa.
The illicit substance was discovered concealed inside of liquid eyeliner containers which were placed inside of the woman’s checked baggage.
The next day, officials in Sao Paolo, Brazil, held a 26-year-old Guyanese woman, who was travelling to Nigeria, at the Guarulhos Cumbica International Airport with four kilograms of cocaine in her possession.
Like her counterpart in Portugal, the cocaine was discovered concealed in liquid eyeliner containers.
From all appearances, the two cases may be related since both women were travelling to Africa, and in both instances the drug was concealed in a similar manner. However, the police release made no mention of whether or not the cases were linked.
