Sean Erskine, who recently returned from Cuba with a degree in Physical Education, has been elected to the position of Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, while David Taylor is the Organising Secretary.
Brian Adams was voted into the office of Publicity Secretary.
The committee members will consist of one member from each of the affiliated member gyms.
President Tucker expressed gratitude to the membership of the GAWA for their demonstration of confidence in his leadership.
He said that he intends to incorporate the input of the elective committee as well as the general membership in fostering the kind of environment for GAWA to achieve its goals for the fiscal year and beyond.
General Secretary of the GAWA, Nurse, pointed out that notwithstanding the many challenges encountered by his organisation, weightlifters have been able to retain their dominance at the Criolla Cup Weightlifting Championships in Puerto Rico through the efforts of Sean Cozier who won three bronze medals.
The next item on GAWA agenda is the Novice Championship, scheduled for Sunday March 22 at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
