A number of teams recorded victories during competition during a recent round of matches in the various zones of the Guyana Softball League organised, Trophy Stall sponsored countrywide round-hand softball cricket competition.
Over in the West Coast zone: at Windsor Forest Ground: Windsor Forest SC defeated Rangers SC “B” team by 69 runs.
Windsor Forest batted first and scored 175-7 off their 15 overs (Mohan Chaitram 39(3×6; 1×4); Muneshwar Balgobin 32(3×6); Ramnauth Singh 4-21 from 3 overs; Anthony Arjune 2-16 from 3 overs) Rangers SC “B” team replied with 106 all out in 13.4 overs(Sunil Gobin 24(2×6);Doodnauth Dhanraj 3-15 from 3 overs).
Hyde Park SC took Rangers SC “B” team apart by defeating them by 8 wkts:
Rangers SC “B” team were inserted and made 113 all out in 13.2 overs(Sunil Gobin 47(5×6);Ramnauth Singh 24(2×6); Hashim Mohamed 4-15 from 3 overs; Orwin Hugh 3-20 from 3 overs) In reply Hyde Park SC raced to 114-2 in 8 overs(Gibran Mohamed 35(4×6);Alim Mohamed 28 (3×6);Sunil Gobin 1-20 from 3 overs).
Hyde Park SC in their second match demolished Superstreet XI by 4 wickets:
Superstreet XI batted first and were bowled out for 43 in 11.3 overs (Rocky Ramcharran 9(1×4); Hashim Mohamed 4-10 from 3 overs; Imran Mohamed 2-10 from 3 overs) In reply Hyde Park struggled initially but eventually got past the scoring 46-6 in 9 overs (Alim Mohamed 29(3×4); Ricky Bacchus 2-10 from 3 overs; Premnauth Chan 2-12 from 3 overs).
At Leonora Primary School Ground: Leonora Youths SC continued their winning ways by beating Stewartville XI by 34 runs: Leonora Youths batted first and scored 121 all-out in 14.3 overs(Rakesh Singh 42(4×6);Shairaz Samad 20(2×4);Hemant Kowlessar 20(2×6);Jai Ramnarine 3-25 from 3 overs)
Stewartville XI in their second match defeated All Stars XI by 27 runs: Stewartville XI batted first and scored 123 all out in 13.3 overs(Sheik Khan 50(5×6;2×4);Shaffel Hack 3-8 from 3 overs) In reply All Stars fell short scoring 96 all out in 13.4 overs(Rafman Hack 23(2×4);Mark Northey 5-20 from 3 overs)
Boom Blast XI got the better of All Stars XI (playing their second match) by 14 runs:
Boom Blast XI batted first and scored 105 all out in 12.5 overs(Ramnarine Ramroop 25(3×4);Bishwa Tiwari 2-5 from 3 overs) In reply All Star XI were limited to 91 all out in 11.3 overs(Riaz Narine 20(2×4);Ramnarine Ramroop 3-15 from 3 overs).
At Den Amstel Ground: Wolf‘s Warriors XI made light work of Rangers SC “A” Team by 8 wkts: Rangers SC “A” Team batted first and scored 68 all out in 14.3 overs (Anand Nizamuddeen 15(2×6); Timur Mohamed 4-10 from 3 overs) In reply Wolf’s Warriors XI made 68-2 from 10 overs (Azad Azeez 21(2×6); Asif Saffie 1-10 from 2 overs).
Rangers SC “A” Team bounced back to beat Hurricane XI by 76 runs: Rangers “A” Team batted first and compiled a huge 217-7 in 15 overs (Diaram Persaud 115 (15×6); Manoj Persaud 2-30 from 3 overs) In reply Hurricane made a spirited 141all out in 13.4 overs (Naeem Khalil 41(4×6); Diaram Persaud 2-14 from 3 overs).
Den Amstel under-15 got a walkover from Avenash XI.
In the West Bank Zone:
Bhaiya XI got a walkover from Players XI. Independence SC got a walkover from Feroz XI.
East Coast Zone:
Kishan XI beat Upsetters XI by 39 runs: Kishan XI batted first and scored 174-4 in 15 overs (Asif Ali 55(4×6); Ricky Singh 40(4×6;1×4);Brian Singh 2-30 from 3 overs) In reply Upsetters XI made 135 all out in 13.3 overs(Chris Ramnarine 43(4×6);Mahase Goberdan 3-32 from 3 overs).
Kishan XI in their second match got the better of Sleep In XI by 6wkts: Sleep In XI won the toss and batted scoring 117 all out 13.1 overs(Ramnarine Narine 30(3×4);Rudolph Premraj 3-12 from 3 overs) In reply Kishan XI made 119-4 in 13.4 overs(Asif Ali 39(4×6);Kishan Ragbeer 2-23 from 3 overs).
Rockaway XI destroyed Rockets XI by 96 runs: Rockaway XI batted first and scored 210-3 in 15 overs(Jagdesh Deosarran 139(15×6);Roy Seebarran 53 not out(5×6);Anthony Ifill 1-13 from 3 overs) Rockets XI made 114 all out 14.2 overs(Falim Mohamed 32(3×6);Ray Pariag 3-10 from 3 overs).
Georgetown Zone:
Street boys XI got a walkover from Banks DIH.
Ariel XI blew away Knight Riders XI by 107 runs: Ariel XI batted first and scored 157-7 in 15 overs (Richard Persaud 46(4×6); Anand Dindial 41(3×6); Salim Baksh 4-19 from 3 overs) In reply Knight Riders XI could only muster 50-7 off their 15 overs (Kirk Singh 11(1×4); Shaheed Gittens 2-8 from 3 overs; Wayne Narine 2-10 from 3 overs).
Ariel XI in their second match defeated Street Boys XI by 64 runs: Ariel XI batted first and scored 194-7 in 15 overs (Ejaz Mohamed 97(7×6;5×4);Anand Dindial 42(4×6);Shiv Jairam 3-27 from 3 overs) In reply Street Boys XI made 130 all out 14.5 overs (Shiv Singh 36(3×6);Samuel Kingston 307 from 3 overs; Dharam Persaud 2-10 from 3 overs).
