Fourteen year old Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club all-rounder Shawn Pereira has been appointed captain of the Berbice under-15 team for the upcoming Castrol Inter-County tournament.
Pereira has as his deputy Veerapen Permaul of Albion Community Centre Cricket Club, the younger brother of national left arm spinner Veersammy Permaul.
The rest of the team as released by the Berbice Cricket Board of Control Junior Selection Committee are Lloydel Lewis, Jamal Jarvis, Trevan Thomas, Videsh Lall, Linden Austin, Kevin Ramdeen, Bisham Deolall, Rajendra Dasrat, Gudakesh Kanhai, Jamal Henry, Devendra Jainabi and Shilendra Shameer.
Four standby players have also been named: Boutnarine Persaud, Mark Basdeo, Martin Weatherspoon and Kandasammy Surujnarine.
Manager of the team is Julian Cambridge while former national all-rounder Andre Percival is the coach.
