As police continues their investigations into the suspected murder of Bissondial Dhanpaul, his wife and son, up to press time yesterday, were still being held.
According to a police source, several other persons were detained yesterday for questioning but were subsequently released.
So far, the source said there is no evidence pointed to either to the dead man’s wife or son who was in police custody since Wednesday.
On Friday last 54-year-old Bissondial Dhanpaul of De Willem was found dead in his bed. The man was subsequently pronounced dead by the neighborhood medex. The family also secured a death certificate which stated that the man had died as a result of a heart attack.
However acting on information, police on Tuesday stopped the family from cremating the man and ordered a post mortem examination. The post mortem revealed that Dhanpaul died as a result of a fractured skull.
Following the post mortem the man’s wife and son were taken into police custody to assist with investigations.
