As the West Indies plays England in the Digicel Series 2009, Windies wicketkeeper and Vice Captain, Denesh Ramdin, speaks about the team’s position in the 3rd Digicel Test.
Denesh Ramdin:
Hi everyone,
We are clearly disappointed with our batting today (Tuesday) in the 3rd Digicel Test which has put us in a bad position. In the afternoon we definitely should have gotten a few wickets but that is the way cricket goes.
Hopefully tomorrow (Wednesday) we can come back in the first session and pick up a couple of wickets and try and get England out as soon as possible so that we have a chance to bat and get some runs. The first hour is very crucial. We need to try and get England out for under 150 so that we have a good chance to get in some runs.
I know the team is really disappointed especially the batsmen who were not able to score as much as they usually do and make runs for the team. Sarwan really batted well but there was no one on the other end to really support him. I know Shiv is disappointed as well. But as I said, this is the way cricket goes.
We just have to bounce back and make every session count. We have not given up yet and we expect the Windies fans to do the same.
Stay tuned as I, and some of the other West Indies cricketers, keep you up to date on the Digicel Series 2009 through our diaries.
