City side battle W/Dem in opening game at Canal Number 2 tomorrow

Malteenoes off-spinner Shaquille Williams has been named captain of the Georgetown under-15 team and will have Sunil Rupee as his deputy.
The team was selected after two practice games over the weekend and includes the dogged left-handed Tagenarine ‘Brandon’ Chanderpaul, the son of top ranked West Indies Test batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
Georgetown face-off with West Demerara in their opening game at the Canal Number Two Sports Club ground tomorrow while East Coast and East Bank will oppose each other in the other first round fixture at Lusignan.
On Friday, East Coast battle Georgetown at Lusignan and West Demerara take on West Demerara at Canal Number Two Sports Club.
After a three-day break the competition continues Tuesday with Georgetown playing East Bank at Everest and West Demerara opposing East Coast at Lusignan.
The final is scheduled for Thursday February 26 at Everest between the two teams with the most points in the competition.

Standbys:-Trealon Liverpool, Vishnu Singh, Sohail Hussain, Pavindralall Persaud, Diquan Murray, Omesh Danaram, Clairmont Duesbury, Nicholas DeCaires.
Meanwhile, East Coast Cricket Board has named a fourteen-man squad and 4 standbys for the Nalico / Nafico 40 overs competition.
The players called are: Brian Sattaur, Yevindra Singh, Reyad Zaman, Devendra Bisham, Kamesh Yadram, Steve Ramdass, Vivian Albert, Owen Andrews, Chris Adrian, Poorandra Jaigobin, Shiveshwar Sankar, Deswayne Butts, Travis Persaud and Nkose Williams, while the standbys are Alex Marshall, Hemant Itwaru, Dhanpaul Ossorio and Wasim Khan.
