Joseph Aick, 37, of Buxton, East Coast Demerara, on Wednesday secured bail in the sum of $10,000 when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson to face the charge of simple larceny.
On February 10, last, in Georgetown, he allegedly stole a battery from the Ministry of Labour. He pleaded not guilty.
When asked whether he had anything to say, the defendant said that it was just an ‘old thing’.
“Your worship, I eat out of the garbage; I am mad; people beat me.”
The Magistrate told him that if she should allow him to go, then he would have to re-appear in court. He promised and will now have to return to court on March 6.
