The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club continue to attract sponsorship from corporate Guyana for its numerous activities.

On Thursday last, the club received sponsorship from Scotia Bank and Gilgeous Pawn Shop at a simple ceremony held at the Berbice Cricket Board Office, New Amsterdam.
The sponsorship from Orin Battice of Gilgeous Pawn Shop has been secured for a twelve (12) team under-19 twenty20 cricket tournament to coincide with the sponsors 10th Anniversary and would be contested on a knock out basis.
Participating clubs are West Berbice, Blairmont, Police, Bermine, Young Warriors, Rose Hall Canje, Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar, Whim, Chesney, Kildonan, Scotsburg and Skeldon.
A first prize of $50,000 in sports gear is at stake with the runner up collecting $30,000 worth. Special gifts would also be given to the player of the final, best batsman and bowler. The total sponsorship package is $195,000.
Battice, stated that since his company was celebrating its 10th anniversary they decided to express gratitude to Berbicians for their support and decided to sponsor the cricket tournament.
He expressed the hope that the tournament would unearth new and exciting talent at the under 19 level while stating his confidence in the RHTY&SC ability to organise a successfully tournament.
Scotia Bank made a contribution of $145,000 for the club’s Annual Awards Ceremony, Annual Review Magazine and a Special Tribute to Teachers Awards Programme.
The RHTY&SC Farfan and Mendes under 15 and Pepsi under 19 teams would coordinate the Tribute to Teachers Awards Ceremony as they pay homage to teachers who are responsible for molding their future.
Assistant Organising Secretary of the club Ravindranauth Kissoonlall speaking on its behalf stated that 2009 promises to be another year of massive development and achievement.
He thanked both sponsors for partnering with the club while assuring them that all the projects would be successfully completed.
