Dear Editor,
The Guyana Cricket Board is made up of many strange faces and it will be worthwhile if an investigative journalist can do a C.V. of each Executive member, setting out in detail their Cricketing pedigree and/or business background or Cricket Administrative achievement.
For example, Mr. Bissoondial Singh, who I understand is from the East Coast, can he explain what the status of East Coast cricket is since he took over. Did he have School under 15 Cricket? Did he have Club and School under 19 Cricket? Did he have Club 2nd Division – 2 Day Cricket? Did he have Over 40 Cricket?
I ask these questions because these are the levels of Cricket that need to be played throughout Guyana and I would have expected that persons seeking office would have brought a Track Record to the table.
Also, can Mr. Sanasie tell us the same about West Demerara Cricket?
Mr. Faizal Bacchus, who is our new Vice President, can he set out in detail what was his achievement in the Pomeroon; e.g. what funds did he raise in the Pomeroon?
Did he organise Under 15 Cricket? Did he organise Under 17 Cricket? Did he organise Under 19 Cricket? Did he organise 1st and 2nd Division Cricket in the Pomeroon? If so, can he give details of the cricket that was played?
This will help us to judge the team that Mr. Singh has chosen to move Cricket from the depths of despair.
As for Mr. Singh, how soon can we expect him to outline his vision to take Guyana’s cricket back to the pinnacle?
Building the Indoor facility in Essequibo and running 2010 World Cup will not automatically make our Under 15 Cricket Team, Under 17 Cricket Team, Under 19 Cricket Team and Senior Team win.
So, I will like Mr. Singh to very shortly articulate his structured Developmental Programme.
Yours faithfully
Richard Singh
