A wanted bulletin has been issued for another person in connection with the last Sunday drug bust at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport. The bulletin was issued for Andrew Yhap, 31, of Christian Street, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
He is the second person for whom a wanted bulletin has been issued in connection with the drug bust last Sunday. The other person is Rawle Drepaul, 31, of Lot 2737 North Ruimveldt, who has since disappeared.
Yvonne Caesar, 59, a citizen of the United States of America, was charged and remanded to prison after she made her court appearance before acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson on Thursday last in connection with that same drug bust.
The woman was nabbed at the airport last Sunday after police found a quantity of cocaine in her hand luggage. The incident occurred at around 08:45 hrs at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport as the woman was about to board a flight back to her homeland.
A check by ranks revealed that a total of 1kg.235 grams of suspected cocaine were concealed in her checked luggage.
The woman had told investigating ranks that Rawle Drepaul’s mother who resides in the USA had asked her to take up a photo album for her. She said that both Drepaul and his wife came to drop off the album at her place.
She said that she didn’t check the album, since she had known the persons, and had just placed it into her granddaughter’s suitcase.
The police are asking for anyone with information that could lead to both arrests to kindly contact the following numbers: 225-6411, 225-2700, 225-1111, 226-2870, 226-2917, 911 or the nearest police station.
