The Parrot has been de-stressed. The process proved that laughter is indeed the best medicine. Many doses were “dispensed” over the last few days in the media. Among the “dispensers” was the “Dispenser-in-Chief”, Uncle Bob. This is an amazing guy, like Barack’s predecessor, George; he provides insurmountable material for satire. The vast amount of material he produces can cause the “Link Show” to become the “Chain-link Show” which can be staged throughout the year.
Since Uncle Bob got Uncle Desi’s job, plenty “comrades” left their uncomfortable place of abode at the Place of CONgress; the latest being Uncle Murray. As alluded to in a previous squawk, the list is long, so long that it is challenging the length of the road to Timbuktu. Many reasons were cited for these departures from the jungle in Sophia; reasons which commonalities include, allegedly, high handedness and a lack of transparency, democracy and accountability. This in itself is funny since these are the things that Uncle Bob accuses the government of.
Now, Uncle Bob is the kind of guy who rushes to blame government for any and everything. A Palm Tree source indicated that he blamed the government for John Mc Cain’s defeat by Obama. He claimed that John lost because Uncle Bharrat endorsed Barack. Yes, that’s the kind of thing Uncle Bob would do. So it wasn’t surprising when he blamed the government for his “comrades” leaving Palm Tree jungle. After reading the article, I laughed and laughed almost to the point of having a “buss belly”. According to Uncle Bob, his “comrades” who left, took out their frustrations at government on him. Way to go! What a spin! The people are frustrated at government so they resigned from the Place of CONgress!
A question for Uncle Bob: hasn’t it dawned upon you that the people are frustrated at you? Should the nation believe that the whole long list of leavers, who left the Place of CONgress, did so because they are frustrated with government?
The Parrot has one bit of advice for you Uncle Bob, get involved in stand-up comedy; you have natural talent; you can challenge Chris Rock! And for those who use laughter as medication, it doesn’t end here. Uncle Bob who has over the years harped about alleged corruption by government officials, lack of transparency in government and government not adhering to principles of accountability, has told his Members of Parliament not to comply with the requirements of the Integrity Commission.
Bravo! Encore! These are comments that can be heard in a stand-up comedy arena. I say the same to Uncle Bob; keep the jokes coming. Here you are telling your MPs to break the law!
All government officials and members of the opposition in parliament are required by law to declare their income and assets to the Integrity Commission. This is transparency. This is democracy. Why would Uncle Bob so instruct his MPs not to comply? The Trot-man indicated that he also would not comply. Is he following Uncle Bob’s order? Birds of a feather!
So Uncle Bob has approved for the law to be broken. Bravo! He also took time out to comment on the alleged treatment of the former first lady. More laughs; Uncle Bob commenting on how a lady should be treated? For real? Should those stories be told again Uncle Bob? You know which ones. Squawk! Squawk!
