The police in Berbice are currently investigating an accident which occurred on Sunday at approximately 19:15 hours. A pedal cyclist, Prakash Tulsie, 53, was struck down by a motor car (PFF 7589).
According to reports, Tulsie, a resident of Crabwood Creek, Corentyne, rode out from an access road into the path of the motor car, which was travelling along the public road at Line Path, Skeldon, Berbice.
Tulsie was reportedly rushed to the Skeldon Hospital, but succumbed while medical treatment was being administered to him.
The driver of the motor car has been taken into police custody.
