As part of his worldwide visit, the General Secretary of the Ahmadiyya Anjuman Lahore International, Amir Aziz, has come to Guyana to meet the members of the Ahmadiyya Anjuman Lahore, Guyana and bringing a message of peace to the people of Guyana.
“I am visiting different parts of the world, and here in Guyana I will present a message of peace to the people of Guyana,” said Aziz. He added that since Guyana’s population was a multicultural one, there was greater need for people to live in peace and tolerance.
He said that ultimately, he wanted to teach his Muslim brothers and sisters how to respect other religions, and how in doing so members of other religions would respect Islam.
During his stay in Guyana, Aziz will visit the different counties, and in doing so, visit the different branches which Ahmadiyya Anjuman Lahore, Guyana has all over the country. After leaving Guyana, the General Secretary will travel to Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname and Holland, before returning to his home in Lahore, Pakistan.
He presented a lecture to Muslims gathered at the Ahmadiyya Anjuman branch on Brickdam yesterday, stressing the need for unity among all the peoples of the world, despite all of the problems now being seen all over the world.
“We need to live in complete solidarity with each other, and learn to deal with all of the people that we live with, despite the difference in religions and race,” said Aziz.
