‘Slackness’ abounds at T&HD, Kingston

The security guards at the Transport and Harbours Department (T&HD) buildings in Water Street, Kingston have apparently not been fazed by the recent sacking of some of the T&HD top brass, as they (security guards) have reportedly been ‘getting on with slackness’ at their workplace.
A security guard, Clyde Williams, who works with BK International, not far from the T&HD building, explained that he has observed the security guards, especially during the night shift, doing a lot of unacceptable things.
Williams said that the security guards come to work vary late, sometimes over an hour later than when they should arrive. He added that he is concerned and appalled that many of the female security guards were “using the guard hut as a brothel.”
Williams said that many of the female security guards who work the night shift often have their boyfriends come and visit them while they are on duty. “Many times, they just have sex in the guard hut,” said Williams.
He added that sometimes they come out of the guard hut and lie on cars that are parked in the environs.
“They are coming to do watchman work, and they are coming to work with sheets in their bags.” Many times the night shift security guards sleep the night away, oblivious to who or what enters the premises.
