Dear Editor,
As we watched history being made, it is with hope that President Barack Hussein Obama makes good on his inaugural speech.
The President took a clear shot at everyone, including the American foreign policy makers, in order to make this world a better place for all human kind.
America must never use its military power like the previous President did to solve problems.
War crimes were clearly committed during the past administration, but no one will ever be tried for war crimes.
President Hussein Obama made it clear that we are not looking back but, instead, looking forward.
A clear message was sent to the Muslim world, where leaders oppressed their people and blame the West. He said no more.
The President talked about his own black people, who must take responsibilities for their very own destiny and that of their family.
No more sitting in the back seat of the car and crying foul.
The audacity of hope is there for all human beings to adhere to, because this is all we have to cling to in order to make a better world for ourselves.
Ron Regan: Government is not the solution to your problem, Government is the problem.
American foreign policies failed; not only America, but the rest of the world as well.
Kennedy: Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.
I hope all Guyanese were witnesses to history, and I hope all make changes for the betterment of their own lives and country.
I hope the PNCR looked, listened and learnt how to move on with grace when they lose at the polls, and co-operate with Government to make Guyana a better place for all Guyanese.
President Barack Hussein Obama’s speech was surely inspiring to me, and I hope the same for all humans too, especially my Guyanese brothers and sister in Guyana.
Guyana is blessed with most everything to sustain herself, so please work to make it work for all.
