A team of officers from the Guyana Police Force left early this morning for Florida, USA, to participate in the United States of America State Partnership Programme.
The programme, which will last for four days, will entail the local officers interacting with their counterparts from the United States on several issues relating to security and traffic.
Those attending the programme are Traffic Chief, Senior Superintendent Neil Semple; Senior Superintendent David Ramnarine, and Superintendents Paul Williams and Lyndon Alves, who was adjudged the Best Cop for 2008.
While in Florida, the Guyanese police officers will have an opportunity to get a first hand look at how the Americans deal with certain situations in the field of crime, traffic and other law enforcement practices.
