The Ministry of Home Affairs yesterday handed over a quantity of items to ‘cluster four’ of the ‘C’ Division Community Policing Group of the East Coast of Demerara. The items were handed over at the ministry’s Brickdam office.
This is in keeping with a commitment made by President Jagdeo to enhance security on the East Coast, following the Lusignan massacre.
More than $50M in items were handed over in an eight-week period to four clusters of the ‘C’ division policing group.
Among the items handed over were caps, jerseys, handcuffs, batteries, hand- held radio sets and a vehicle.
Making the presentation was Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee.
