Some 26 winners in the Fogarty’s “U Turn to Win” Christmas promotion received their prizes on Wednesday during a simple handing over ceremony which was held at the Water Street Branch.
Those collecting the top prizes were Waheeda Rohoman who got a $250,000 Bronze card; Beverley Critchlow, a $500,000 Silver Card; the Guyana Responsible Parenthood Association, a $750,000 Gold Card; and Barbara Rose, a $1 M Platinum card.
Other prize winners included Sharon Miranjie who won a bedroom set; Shunnette Jeffrey, a kitchen set; Sophia Boyer, a complete computer system; Ian Melville, a dining set; Kalia Huggins, a refrigerator; and Radha Singh, a Sony stereo set. The other winners walked away with gift certificates, food hampers, microwaves, DVD players and other household appliances.
Executive Director of Fogarty’s, Vibert Parvatan, thanked the winners for their support in 2008. He noted that without the customers there will be no business and their continuous support is necessary.
According to Parvatan, the prizes totalled some $4 M. This competition attracted 92,000 entries. There were two drawings with a total of 54 winners.
