Dear Editor,
This is in response to Wilbert M. Stephenson’s letter captioned, “Lasting peace will come when Israel’s existence as a nation is not threatened” (Guyana Chronicle dated January12-09).
Wilbert, before you delve into your long tirades on this subject matter, you must first tell the public and the entire world the following:
Who created Israel? What was the size of Israel then? What was the population of Israel at that time?
What is the size and population of Israel at the time you wrote your letter to Guyana Chronicle?
You think the Palestinian people woke up one morning and decided to launch home-made rockets on the Israeli people for absolute no reason whatsoever?
Should the West Bank and Gaza Strip be the two-state solution you are talking about? Or more like three states?
You forget to say lasting peace will come in the troubled Palestine region when Israel gives up all the lands it stole from the Palestinian people, not the so-called 97% as was offered.
Peace will come to the Palestine region when the Palestinian people have the right to return to their homeland.
Wilbert, can you imagine being called “refugee” in your own homeland, a homeland where occupiers beat you to pulp and then tell you, you have no right to return?
Picture that scenario in your mind next time before you print and insult your own intelligence.
You insulted your own intelligence, Wilbert, by living too long in
T. King
