The Mayor and City Council (M&CC) was yesterday fixing bridges along Sussex Street. Georgetown Mayor Hamilton Green later said that the restoration of the bridges is part of an ongoing programme that will see the City Council fixing the bridges that have fallen into a state of disrepair.
He added that the M&CC was always faced with a deficiency of funds, but as soon as the Council had acquired the necessary monies, it would continue with other damaged bridges around the city.
Some of the workers who were repairing the bridges said that the weather had slowed the progress of the repairs. The repairs were started on January 8, and are expected to be completed today.
