The newspaper noted that ten suicide bombers from LeT Jaish – e- Mohammed wa Jamath Ud Dawa had also come in the country to disrupt the conference in which President Prathiba Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi will be participating.
The letter warned that ten car bombs were sneaked into Chennai and that on the day of the conference, suicide bombers will strike.
It was noted that the bombers would lie in wait near the conference venue armed with AK – 300 type weapons. The letter was addressed to the Air India Building and copies were sent to various security agencies in the country.
The event began yesterday and will end tomorrow.
It has being organized by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs in partnership with the Government of Tamil Nadu.
PBD Conventions provide a platform for exchange of views and networking to the Persons of Indian Origin on matters of common interest.
These conventions assist the Government of India to better understand the expectations of the Overseas Indians from the land of their ancestors and to acknowledge their role in India’s all-round development and its efforts to acquire its rightful place in the comity of nations.
