Scores of persons waiting to register their businesses lined up outside of the Deeds and Registry Offices in the High Court compound, in a rush to meet the January 15 deadline.
Businesses that fail to register by the deadline will incur a fine of $5000.
A number of people were seen waiting at the Deeds and Registry Offices to register their businesses.
Persons working at the Deeds and Registry Offices said that approximately 200 persons have been coming daily, since January 2.
After paying the necessary fees, there is a three (working) day waiting period, after which the documents of the registered business may be uplifted.
Persons coming out of the offices noted that things were running smoothly and that people seemed to be getting through without problem.
