The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Level 1 coaching accreditation course began yesterday at the Guyana National Stadium with both theoretical and practical sessions.
Guyana Cricket Board Territorial Developmental Officer and former West Indies pacer Colin Stuart expressed satisfaction with what transpired on the opening day and explained that bio-mechanics was among the topic looked at during the morning ‘indoor’ session in the Boardroom of the Stadium at Providence.
Batting drills were conducted in the afternoon session with the coaches being evaluated by former Test pacer Kenny Benjamin, ex-West Indies youth player Wendell Coppin and Jamaican Phillip Service. Sessions continue today and Stuart expressed the hope that the local coaches who attend will gain valuable knowledge from the exercise.
