The Women’s Progressive Organisation (WPO) hopes that this year men and women will to resolve their personal problems in a manner that can enhance family relationships.
The organization is calling on all Guyanese to reject violence as a means of solving their problems, starting from the home.
The past year was a challenging year for Guyana especially in view of the economic turmoil in the first world countries, coupled with the adverse problems associated with global climate change, the WPO noted
The organisation said the country will feel the impacts of the global recession, and can expect difficulties in some sectors of the economy.
“In this regard, we call on everyone to work harder in their respective homes to improve the welfare of their families,” the WPO stated.
“We call on everyone to work harder at the individual level to improve their skills, and where ever possible to strive to enhance personal relationships,” the body added.
The WPO is also calling on Guyanese to exercise discretion in the way in which they treat with the environment and to help to keep the country clean.
