Dear Editor,
I am writing to you with the deepest respect, gratitude, and sincerity in the hope that you can help a mourning family bring justice to the perpetrators of the brutal murder of our beloved one, Ricardo Henriques.
He was killed by a single gunshot to the head on Middle Street on November 24 by two motorcycle bandits who felt they had a right to rob a decent, honest, hardworking person without any mercy or feelings to a human life.
Ricky, as he was fondly called, was one of the most compassionate, sincere, and loving guys that graced the surface of the planet. He would give his heart, his love, and his compassion to anyone that ever crossed his path. But yet still he had to die at the hands of brutal and senseless murderers that took his life at the tender age of 31.
Ricky was having lunch on that fateful Monday midday with his dad for the last time in his life.
He had called his wife in America that morning to tell her he loves her and will be there for Thanksgiving. He told her to tell the kids, ages 12 and 13, that he loves them very much and daddy will be home soon.
He never made it.
Ricky has two sisters. One of them is married to my brother. Her tears cannot stop flowing. It was her only brother and the void and sadness in her heart cannot even be stopped or comprehended.
His other sister is suffering the same fate because he was her darling angel and protector and was always there for her. His mom and dad refuse to believe what has happened to their one and only son because Ricky will always be alive in their hearts.
On that fateful and fatal Monday, Ricky was followed by two motorcycle bandits; this act was perpetrated by one of his employees. That very guy was treated with so much love and respect and given so many gifts by Ricky, but greed in the human heart took over. He is in jail right now but the trigger guys who mercilessly put a gun to Ricky’s ears and shot without mercy are still on the loose. These guys must be brought to justice.
About a month ago you had covered this story for us and we have very deep gratitude to you for that. We want you to be our only source and help along with the Police to bring these terrible, ruthless, dangerous murderers to justice and off the streets.
Not only Ricky’s life was destroyed but the aftermath of the family pain is one you do not wish on your worse enemy. The pain and suffering is so brutal to our hearts we cry every day.
His kids ask everyday why did this have to happen to their daddy. Why did God have to steal their father away? Some of these answers we will never know but one thing I would give my heart for and that is to see Ricky’s killers brought to justice.
It hurts a lot. It really does. It is the most profound grief to our souls and I am humbly asking all who can to please provide their expertise and help for us in any way they can. I will provide the help you need financially if you can help us bring these guys to justice.
