Recaptured fugitive, 28-year-old Ronald Daniels, called ‘Black Boy’, has been charged with murder.
Daniels made an appearance at the Suddie Magistrates’ Court on Monday to answer a charge of murder stemming from the killing of businessman Indar Gajadhar of Zorg, Essequibo Coast, on February 27, 2007 at Onderneeming Backdam.
The charge was indictable and the accused was not required to plead when he appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty.
Daniels was remanded to prison until January 29.
On Saturday last, after being on the run for two years, Daniels was recaptured by police ranks. The man who had escaped from the Mazaruni Prisons on December 12, 2006 was found in a house at Queenstown on the Essequibo Coast.
Five other persons were arrested in two separate houses after Daniels was recaptured. The police also unearthed one 12-gauge single barrel shotgun.
