A potential thief was apprehended by staff members of the Guyana/Canada Corporation Centre, at 56 Main and New Market Streets, yesterday morning. The would-be thief gained access to the compound by apparently jumping over the fence from the neighbouring yard.
According to staff members of the Guyana/Canada Corporation Centre, the man was picked up on the closed circuit security cameras as he jumped over the fence.
Upon seeing the unidentified man in the compound, staff members and security personnel rushed in and apprehended him.
He attempted to flee, but was soon caught and made to wait near the guard hut, as personnel from the security company were called to remove him.
The man tried to flee once more but failed. The security company came soon afterwards and took the would-be thief to the Brickdam Police Station.
“This is not the first time we have had this problem,” explained a staff member.
