Guyanese all-rounder Carlston Nurse is now residing in the Twin Island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and according to the all-rounder he is in line for selection on the Tobago team for the 2009 division one 20/20 cricket competition.
The 23-year-old Nurse, who has been playing for Mason Hall Cricket Club for the past six weeks, recently told Kaieteur Sport in Trinidad that he is enjoying his new home on the beautiful Island and is adjusting well to the cricket there.
“My performances so far have been very good and I have been able to register three half-centuries. The century seems to be eluding me and my highest score is 64. I have also taken 14 wickets with two five-wicket hauls and I now have an outstanding chance of making my debut for the Tobago 20/20 team,” Nurse disclosed.
Tobago play as a team in the national 20/20 competition in Trinidad and Tobago and with T&T being the defending regional 20/20 champions in addition to beating English County 20/20 champions side Middlesex, a lot of emphasis is played on the shortest version of the game in Trinidad and Tobago.
The right-handed Nurse who also bowls off-spin, represented West Berbice team Achievers in the Berbice Cricket Board of Control’s first division competition and was a former standby player for the Berbice under-19 side. (Sean Devers)
