A grand Christmas party is in the planning stage for persons who have utilised and those who are still utilising the services of the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Centre.
According to Administrator of the facility, Captain Matignol Saint-Lot, the event scheduled for next Tuesday is intended to show appreciation for the several individuals who have over the years made the major decision to quit drugs and change their life for the better.
Captain Saint-Lot pointed out that the drug rehab programme has been able to record a more than 60 per cent success in its clients’ recovery rate.
At the moment the facility accommodates about 20 clients, of which 10 are supported by their parents.
Clients are required to pay a total of $50,000 per month to facilitate their participation in the recovery programme which amounts to $300,000 for the stipulated period of recovery at the facility.
The government had recently offered the programme a $5M grant which has since allowed the admittance of seven clients free of cost and another 10 persons were expected to be admitted through government assistance.
As part of the observance of Christmas, Captain Saint-Lot said that all clients are invited to the grand fête which will be held at the 6 – 7 Water Street, Kingston, location of the Rehab Centre.
According to the Captain, all former clients who wish to be a part of the event can contact him on telephone numbers 697-6532 or 692-4299 as soon as possible.
