Right after the hosting of its Karma Experience event, the Wildfire Productions team is now poised to pull off another massive event in collaboration with the Alternative Contracting entity popular for the hosting of such entertainment events.
Come January 01, 2009 the entities will combine to host the ‘New Year Explosion’ 2K9 which will feature Jamaican international artistes ‘Serani’ and dancehall diva ‘Cecile’. They will team up with an exciting lineup of local artistes to put on an explosive show for Lindeners and other surrounding fans.
The event is slated for the MSC Ground in Linden.
On Monday, at a press conference hosted for the event, Chief Executive Officer of Alternative Contacting Enterprise, Dereck Wilson, said that the show will be explosive and will generate satisfaction for all who attend.
He said the idea for the event was initiated after the annual Kashif and Shanghai Football series was destined for the National Stadium instead of the traditional Linden Sports Club Ground.
This shift of the football final has created a void which has led to the need for this entertaining venture, which he feels will add equal excitement for Lindeners.
To satisfy the whims of the patrons the organisers have added fashion displays by Linden designers, ‘the Telford Sisters’, who made positive impact at the Guyana Fashion Weekend in both 2007 and 2008.
Alternative Contracting Director, Leonard Forde, said they are not competing with the Kashif and Shanghai event, but instead are simply replacing an event to offer entertainment for those who may not be able to travel to the city for the final.
Noting that the weather can be sometimes unpredictable, he added that provisions will be made to shelter and accommodate the large crowd expected for the event.
He said that, depending on the support received from fans at this event, his entity will decide on the possibility of hosting three such events yearly.
The director said that, while there is a lone major sponsor at the moment, he is hoping other companies will come on board to assist with sponsorship to make the event successful.
Wildfire’s Representative, Vijai Panday, said that their entity is more than pleased to be offering their management services at this venture, emphasising that they have already booked the two international artistes who would ‘definitely be coming’ to Guyana.
He guaranteed an excellent show, indicating that the major sponsor of the event at the moment is Ansa McAl Ltd.
