The Venezuelan Embassy in Guyana will be strengthening its language programme, as more and more Guyanese are enrolling to study Spanish.
On Wednesday last, Venezuelan Ambassador to Guyana, Dario Morandy, stated that the Venezuelan Institute for Culture and Cooperation has the largest amount of students enrolled to study a foreign language, more than any other institute in the country.
Ambassador Morandy noted that learning a new language is important, and added that Spanish is one of the most complicated languages from a grammatical point of view.
On Wednesday, students from three levels of Spanish courses —- basic, intermediate and advanced —- graduated from the institute.
During the ceremony, there was a presentation highlighting a ‘cultural fusion’ showcasing Spanish, Guyanese and Caribbean traditions.
This is the first time that students who have completed programmes at the institute have received certificates for their achievement.
